Afternoon: Stroll the Old Wooden Way
Stroll the old wooden way and enjoy your favorite Boardwalk foods from funnel cake to corn dogs, you will find the entrances to Central Pier, Steel Pier and Garden Pier scattered along more than four miles of Boardwalk. A seemingly endless array of restaurants, retail shops, casinos and unique attractions make it impossible to be bored on the Boardwalk. From a yearly marathon, triathlons, surfing and volleyball competitions to the one-and-only Miss America Parade, the Boardwalk will have everyone yelling more than “Show us your shoes!”

If you’re enchanted by the coveted Miss America crown, don’t miss the Miss America Rose Walk, a collection of bronze plaques featuring Miss America quotes embedded in the sidewalk along Michigan Avenue. The focal point of the Rose Walk is a bronze statue of Bert Parks located in the Rose Garden at Sheraton Hotel, host of the Miss America competition from 1955 to 1980. Visitors can take advantage of a once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunity by posing under the crown in the statue’s outstretched hands as a motion sensor triggers the playing of the pageant’s traditional theme song, “There She Is, Miss America” through an enhanced digital sound system.Located on the Boardwalk, the Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Museum is a fascinating look into the world of the bizarre and unusual. From Vlad the Impaler to shrunken heads to the girl down the well, you’ll find new oddities, wondrous exhibits and family-fun adventures around every turn.Also, on the Boardwalk, you’ll find Haunted Tales. Morning: Learn Something Important And Be Amazed!
Start your day amid the pathways, plants, flowers and Gingko trees of the Civil Rights Garden. This amazing garden features 11 granite columns and sculptures with inscriptions related to the history, events and people of the Civil Rights movement. Located on the Boardwalk across from the Civil Rights Garden by Brighton Park, the New Jersey Korean War Memorial features a thoughtful tribute to the men and women lost during the Korean War and the dedicated service they provided. During the summer season, take a free tour of New Jersey’s first commercial wind farm, located on Route 30 in Atlantic City. No appointment is necessary to tour. Historic Boardwalk Hall located on Mississippi Avenue and the Boardwalk houses the largest musical instrument on earth. More powerful than a dozen orchestras, it can both whisper and thunder into the 5.5 million cubic feet of air space in the main arena. A second instrument by W. W. Kimball is also part of the Adrian Phillips Ballroom. Both of these incredible machines were included as part of the original stage equipment for the building and can be seen and heard in operation every weekday for 1/2 hour concerts and tours May-October at noon as well as played for several events including silent films and the Miss America Pageant.
Afternoon: Go Cultural
End your stay in Atlantic City with a little culture. The Atlantic City Museum and Art Center located on Garden Pier (soon to be part of the Atlantic City Historical Library) features free rotating exhibits of regional and national artists, displayed beautifully in this pier over the Atlantic Ocean and the Atlantic City Museum offers a look at the history of our City by the sea, both are free to the public. Atlantic City has the oldest working pipe organ in the world, located inside historic Boardwalk Hall, free concerts and tours of the Midmer-Losh are given every day at noon, it’s a piece of history you won’t want to miss! After the tour stop by our Boardwalk Information Center for your free AC magnet, just a small memento to remember your visit.

You don’t have to spend an arm and a leg when you go out to lunch or dinner in Atlantic City.
