The Kukri Memorial, again near Jalandhar beach, is famous for an open amphitheatre and sunset shots. The cost of Nagao beach is renowned for recreational activities such as boating, parasailing, etc. An offshore lighthouse situated here is also very famous. Visit Diu Fort or Fort Diu, constructed by the Portuguese during their colonial rule. An example of grand architecture, this fort on the cost of the island commands a wonderful view of the sea and skirts the sea water on three sides. Situated on the western coast of the country, the Diu Fort lies at the mouth of the Gulf of Khambhat. A colossal structure built by the Portuguese in 1535, it’s a fascinating sight that provides a powerful view of the ocean . The parapet of the fort is lined with cannons that were earlier employed in the defence of the fort. It is also home to three beautiful churches: St Thomas Church, St Paul’s Church and Church of St Francis of Assisi. Tourists also can visit the Venetian-Gothic style bungalow that lies within the vicinity. A Shiva temple that’s dedicated to Gangeshwar Mahadev also makes for a stimulating visit. Another attraction may be a lighthouse from where tourists can get a germander speedwell view of the whole area.
The fort was built for defense purposes when Mughal emperor Humayun had lead a war to annex the territory. Today, the fort stands drenched in the old world charm and the rich historic past of the Portuguese rulers.
This was the primary church to be built by the Portuguese. Constructed in 1593, the Church of St Francis of Assisi is that the oldest and one among the three most beautiful churches on the island. The church is found on a hillock that overlooks the Arabian Sea.

The Church of St Thomas was constructed within the late 16th century and was the second church to be built by the Portuguese.
Dedicated to St Thomas, the development of the fort was completed in 1598 and is, to the present day, one among the main churches of Portuguese India.
It is one among the few churches in India that are constructed in Gothic sort of architecture. With white washed walls and faded Portuguese frescoes, the church was abandoned for a couple of decades before it had been converted into a museum in 1998.
St. Thomas Church is found within the market area of the Diu fort. It has Baroque facades along side a set of local artifacts, stone sculptures of Christ and Virgin Mary and wood carvings made from wood that are quite over four centuries old. Despite not functioning as a church, there is mass held here once a year.

At a distance of three km from Diu bus terminal , INS Khukri Memorial is that the memorial site of an Indian Naval Ship located on a hillock in Diu. Situated near Chakratirth Beach, it’s one among the must-visit places while holidaying in Diu.INS Khukri memorial was found out in 1999 to commemorate the brave martyrs of Indian Navy. INS Khukri, one among the historic Naval Ships of India, fell prey to 3 torpedoes fired by a Pakistan submarine on 9th December 1971 and sank 40 nautical miles off the coast of Diu. With the ship 18 officers and 176 sailors laid down their lives for the glory of the state . Captain Mahendra Nath Mulla Mahavir Chakra was the captain of this warship.The memorial comprises a scaled model of INS Khukri enclosed during a glass case. Names of all officers and sailors of the ship are displayed at the top. There is an outdoors theater towards the ocean with seating arrangement for visitors. From the memorial, one can get a gorgeous view of the setting sun over the Arabian Sea.
Gangeshwar Mahadev Temple is an Ancient Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva referred to as Gangeshwar Mahadev situated 3kms faraway from Diu in Fudam village of Gujarat, India. This Temple was built by Pandavas in Mahabharata times. The main attraction of this temple are its Five Shivalingas or rocks within the sort of Lord Shiva, located within the midst of the rocks on the seashore, which are often washed by the tidal waves of the ocean . When the tide is high, one could only see the tip of those rocks of this temple, because the sea water tends to submerge them. These stones or Shivalingas are believed to possess been placed here by the Pandava brothers during their period of exile once they were doing penance for Lord Shiva.
A huge stone structure, Panikotha may be a fortress within the middle of the ocean . It also served because the main prison complex when the Portuguese ruled Diu. It can be accessed via ferry boats that leave every 30 minutes from the town jetty. Quite an impressive complex, it looks all the more stunning at night, bathed in multi-coloured lights. A major landmark of the town, it also can be seen from the highest of the Diu Fort. It is a mile away from land and is home to a quaint lighthouse and a chapel dedicated to the Goddess of Sea. A secret passageway is believed to attach it to the fort, how that also has not been found!

Devaliya park also mentioned because the ‘Gir Interpretation Zone’ is a neighborhood carved out as a definite eco-tourism locale allowing tourists to look at lions also because the other rare wild animals of Gir within a short time span and against cheaper charges, Devaliya in other words is a part of Gir National Park and it allows the facility of reserving the population of untamed animals within a neighborhood segregated with Ha Chain linked fences. This attempt has been made by the eco-tourism department to reduce the tourist pressure on Gir as an entire and to extend the probabilities for tourists to look at the wild animals. It falls within Gujarats Junagadh district and in vicinity to Sasan Gir Village which is only 12kms away from Devaliya National Park.
