Great Ways to Fill Your Days
With its ideal location at the upper reaches of the Southwest and the mountainous start of the Northwest, Reno Tahoe offers the best of both regions – a beautiful high desert setting and a backdrop of towering peaks that has more special event, outdoor recreation, world-class spas, breathtaking vistas and sunny days than any other resort area in North America. In RenoTahoe you will find something for everyone.

Start by driving under the famous arch of the Biggest Little City in the World right through the center of downtown Reno on your way to the nearby National Automobile Museum.
As you approach the museum, you will see an arch from our past – and your travel through time will continue inside the world-famous collection of cars. Vintage, classic and special interest automobiles, rare and one-of-a-kind wonders, dynamic race cars and one of the finest horseless carriages collections in the world are all set in authentic street scenes. Grab a Brew Map and see how many breweries and distillery tasting rooms you can cross of your list!
MidTown is one of Reno Tahoe’s fastest growing districts, and with that comes lots of delicious and inventive food.
Start your day at Two Chicks with a cozy and creative vibe, delicious classic menu choices and their signature Bloody Mary. You’ll want to fuel up for a short drive up to Incline Village at America’s Most Beautiful Lake. Stick your toes in the sand, grab a catamaran cruise, take in the jaw-dropping view and enjoy a cocktail by one of the Hyatt’s fire pits while watching the sun set.
Sleep in a little and schedule a more laid-back day to regroup. The beautiful Truckee River flows through the middle of downtown Reno.
Along the river you will find a local’s favorite coffee shop, The Hub. Every step of their production from roasting the beans locally to the brews poured by talented and friendly baristas is top notch and you’ll taste it! The Riverwalk district, just east of The Hub offers a multi-screen theater, riverfront dining and activities like kayaking in the whitewater park. The historic Post Office building houses a West Elm store and a hidden gem called The Basement with little stores and a delicious chocolate shop.
Arts & Culture day! Numerous galleries, sculpture parks and murals are icing on the cake for our Nevada Museum of Art – the only accredited art museum in the state.
Be sure to allow ample time to check out the exhibitions by national and international artists as well as a permanent collection divided into four thematic focus areas: the Robert S. Dorothy J. Keyser Art of the Greater West Collection, the Carol Franc Buck Altered Landscape Photography Collection, the Contemporary Art Collection, and the E.L. Weigand Work Ethic in American Art Collection. And if you plan your trip in July – you have hit the Arts jackpot – the entire month is Artown. This arts and cultural festival features over 500 multidisciplinary events including music, dance, theater, visual arts, workshops, art walks and much more. Offering a majority of events free to the public, experience fun for the whole family and celebrate all that the arts have to offer.
Nearby attractions are plentiful and diverse. Sparks is our sister city and within 5 minutes you can enjoy a beautiful marina with a paved path all around the perimeter, beach volleyball and a dog park.
In the same area, Wild Island has a large Water Park with slides and various pools, miniature golf, and bowling lanes. Both options are family friendly and in close proximity to Reno. A little to the south and about 30 minutes away you can choose our capital, Carson City, that features many museums and a lovely old downtown with new shops and restaurants. 20 miles South and east is Virginia City – most famous for the Comstock Lode, this historic town was established in the 1800s and provides a unique step back in time.
